ATTORNEY JACK B. FISHMAN

Jack B. Fishman is a Partner and former Managing Partner of FMPC, where he advises individuals and corporations on matters relating to corporate and transactional law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate bankruptcy and restructuring, estate planning, elder care, animal law, and real estate. He has been a licensed attorney for over 30 years, and has a reputation for being thorough, dedicated, and intense. Jack was the founder of Jack B. Fishman and Associates, P.C., FMPC’s predecessor. As an immediate past Managing Partner, Jack’s vision set the stage for the emergence of FMPC as a preeminent “small” firm offering a unique and varied range of legal services in the collar counties and beyond.

Jack previously founded, managed, and operated Novare, Inc., a successful, nationally recognized bankruptcy advisory services firm specializing in providing a unique array of services to Chapter 11 and corporate Chapter 7 clients. In addition to his management role at Novare, Jack was directly involved with substantive case work in all client engagements. Representative cases in which Jack provided his financial and legal skills include United Air Lines, Wickes Lumber, Inc., Wickes Furniture, Inc., Atchison Casting Corporation, Big V Supermarkets, Inc., Goss Graphics Systems, Inc., and Northwestern Steel and Wire. Prior to his establishment of Novare, Jack held executive positions in other companies, including Managing Director of Bankruptcy Administration and General Counsel of the Beloit Liquidating Trust; Assistant General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Beloit Corporation; General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Rentar Industries; and Administrator and General Counsel of a Midwest Hospital.

Education

Jack received his Bachelor of Arts with honors, double majoring in business Management and Accounting, from Northeastern Illinois University. He received his M.B.A from Loyola University Graduate School of Business, and his J.D. from John Marshall Law School, where he was also a member of the Gavel Society; and Jack has a completed coursework in Taxation in an L.LM. program at Chicago Kent College of Law. Jack has also completed Executive Education programs at Duke University Fuqua School of Business and The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
